Dubai Municipality has increased inspections at educational institutions in order to make sure that health and safety regulations are being followed.
The inspections are being conducted in schools, kindergartens, and nurseries with the objective of ensuring they are ready for the upcoming academic year.
The safety and quality of drinking water, swimming pools, food containers, and uniforms have been confirmed through over 700 laboratory tests.
The maintenance of the water, air conditioning, and ventilation systems, as well as the safety of the buildings, were also the key topics of the inspections.
The municipality has several programs and initiatives in place to increase awareness, like the "Health and Safety Ambassadors" program for schools, where authorities give guidance on methods for resolving violations and emergencies, as well as encouraging the use of technologies to monitor pollution.
Other initiatives included the "School Food Safety Champion" program, which comprised a series of workshops to encourage healthy eating habits and lessen food waste in educational institutions and aimed at educating students about the significance of eating meals that are nutritious.
