Dubai: Holy Quran Award Begins with Sheikh Khalifa Quran Distribution

The 24th edition of the Dubai International Holy Qur'an Award started today 14th April. The award began with the distribution of the "Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Qur’an", which was announced by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
The sessions under the 15-day event will be held daily from 9.30pm at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai, after the Taraweeh prayers.
The event will be held in accordance with all the precautionary measures for COVID-19.
The committee of the award has decided to dedicate and name the 24th edition after the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in recognition of his efforts in all fields.
The Quran Award commissioned two of the most famous calligraphers in the world to write the Qur’an of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and after their completion two years ago, the two copies of the Qur’an were presented to Arabic calligraphy specialists to choose the font.

In 2011, it was announced that the President of the UAE was chosen as the Islamic Personality of the Year for that session, and on this occasion the Organizing Committee of the Award was tasked with writing and printing a Qur’an in the name of Sheikh Khalifa.
