Dubai Customs collaborated with Japanese authorities to foil an attempt to smuggle methamphetamine worth $310 million into Japan, the customs authority reported on Sunday, Jul. 2.
The officers from both countries seized the drugs after receiving information that a significant amount had been stashed in a cargo ship heading towards Japan.
This joint operation was the second biggest drug bust in Japan as the team seized 700 kg of methamphetamine in Tokyo.
This operation marks an important milestone in Dubai's contribution to the global campaign against drug trafficking.
Dubai Customs has been working diligently to work closely with customs authorities around the world to combat the drug trade.
