Dubai: Al Barsha Building Engulfed in Flames on Sunday Night
The Time Topaz Hotel Apartments in Al Barsha, Dubai was engulfed in flames on Sunday night, Dec. 29 at 10:30 p.m.
Tenants alerted neighbors and rushed to evacuate the building after the fire alarms failed to raise the alarm.
Teams from the Dubai Civil Defence came five minutes after the fire started. No one was injured, according to the authorities and a nearby hotel took in some of the affected residents.
At 11:48 p.m., the fire was brought under control, leading to cooling operations.
There is a heavy police presence at the building and the tenants are not allowed inside the building. The site has been handed over to the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
