Starting in April 2023, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Road in Abu Dhabi will have a minimum speed limit of 120 km/h. According to the Abu Dhabi police, beginning May 1, violators would be fined Dh400.

The last lane, which is reserved for large trucks and has a speed restriction of 140 km/h, would not be subject to fines for exceeding the minimum speed limit.
