Former President of the USA Donald Trump was arrested for the fourth time in 2023 in Georgia for charges of planning to overturn the state elections in 2020.

He was shortly held at the Fulton County Jail, which released a mugshot of the former US president and booked him as inmate No. P01135809.

Trump is the first former US president to have taken a mugshot.

Live news showed the Fulton County Jail surrounded by barricades, which blocked off the group of Trump supporters.

Trump remained in prison for 20 minutes before he was released.

After his release, he boarded a private plane for his home in New Jersey.

Trump shared the historic mugshot on his Truth Social platform with text reading "election interference" and "never surrender!"

His booking process did not include an arraignment. The politician has agreed to a $200,000 release bond and not to share threatening messages on social media as he waits for his trial.
