According to a circular issued by Dubai Land Department, Dubai residents have been given two weeks to register cohabitants in private, shared apartments and villas.
All co-occupants must be registered on the Dubai REST app within the two-week deadline.
To register, you need to visit Dubai Land Department and click on the home page to ‘manage your co-occupants’.

You can register on the site for an account if you don’t have one or log in with UAE Pass for quick access.
After logging in you have to select ‘manage co-occupants’ and add the details of the people living in the property, including their Emirates ID and date of birth.
Details of co-occupants will be automatically updated on tenancy contracts.
Landlords must give their permission for tenants to share rented apartments or villas, according to Dubai Rental Law,
Rent collection will be enabled through the Central Bank of the UAE’s Direct Debit System (UAEDDS). This move to a digital payment system aligns with the government’s vision for a paperless and more sustainable society.
