Abu Dhabi Media Office announced updated requirements for approval to enter the capital.
There are two tests available to obtain entry however their length of validity differs. You can still leave Abu Dhabi without a COVID-19 test.

From Thursday, the updates are as follows:
- A negative PCR ‘nose swab’ test received within 48 hours.
- A negative DPI laser test received within 48 hours accompanied by a prior negative PCR test received within 6 days.

The same type of test cannot be taken twice in a row within 6 days
“Entry will be allowed within 48 hrs of receiving a negative PCR test result, or with a negative DPI laser test result accompanied by a negative PCR test result received within 6 days. The Committee states that the same type of test cannot be taken twice in a row within 6 days.”
COVID-19 trial vaccine participants are exempt and they can use the emergency lanes for travel
“Volunteers in the COVID-19 vaccine trials are exempt from these entry measures and are authorised to use emergency vehicle lanes for a smooth journey. Meanwhile, violating these procedures will result in penalties and fines as outlined by the Attorney General.”
