Education has been one of the UAE’s highest priorities since 1971 as President His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE, noted, "The greatest use that can be made of wealth is to invest it in creating generations of educated and trained people”. Wadeema’s Law
Wadeema’s Law was launched by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on March 15, 2016, and it is the federal law concerning child rights.
The ‘Child Protection Unit’ initiative
‘Child Protection Unit’ was launched by The Ministry of Education (MoE), targeting the students of government and private schools across the UAE. The initiative aims to protect children from all forms of harm, negligence, and abuse that they may experience in the surrounding environment at school or home and maintain the safety of students from the physical, psychological or educational perspectives.
Hemayati app
Hemayati, an Arabic word that means “protect me”, is a smart mobile app to report child abuse cases in the UAE. Hemayati app allows children to send alerts to their parents when they are in danger, although it helps parents track their children's movements.

Ministry of Interior has established a number where anyone can report child abuse to them through the hotline number 116111, or the MoI’s Child Protection Centre's website.
