Expats in the UAE can now send up to Dhs150,000 per transaction and Dhs450,000 monthly to valid IBAN accounts in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, and Slovenia. These nations join existing recipients like Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the UK, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

On average, 80% of EU transfers are processed in under 30 minutes, making it one of the fastest options available.

Mohammad El Saadi, VP of Careem Pay, highlighted how the expansion provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional exchange houses and bank transfers.

"Sending money abroad can be expensive and slow. By covering more European countries, we’re giving expats an easy, fast, and secure way to support their families, pay mortgages, and manage personal expenses," he said.

Careem Pay, already popular for taxis and food delivery, is now making remittances more convenient than ever—helping expats send money home with just a few taps on their phones.
