Who ordered the cold shower?

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) is serving up a five-day forecast of rain, rough seas, and moderate winds—though a quick peek out your window likely gave you the same update this morning.

While Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s coastal areas are feeling a brisk chill, Ras Al Khaimah’s mountains have gone full winter mode, hitting a bone-chilling 2.2ºC.

How long will it last?

According to the NCM, the light-to-moderate rain should taper off by Friday, making way for humid mornings over the weekend and a gradual temperature rise starting Monday.

And while the freak April floods of 2024 may still be fresh in our minds, January typically takes the crown for the UAE’s rainiest month, with an average of 19mm of precipitation. Compare that to last year’s record-breaking spring floods, when an astonishing 254mm fell in under 24 hours in Al Ain’s Khatm Al Sahkla area—a reminder of how extreme UAE weather can get!

So, bundle up and enjoy the cool while it lasts—it’s all part of the UAE’s dynamic weather story.
