Best Things to Do in UAE’s Hatta
High in the Hajar Mountains, in the UAE, sits the exclave of Hatta. An ancient defence tower, stone homes with palm frond roofs, and falaj, the traditional water system, may be found in the rebuilt Hatta Heritage Village. Traditional weaponry, furniture, and tableware are also on display. The Hatta Reservoir Visitor Point at the neighbouring Hatta Dam looks out over the dazzling green water pools.
We will suggest some activities to enjoy the mountain area:

Have a dive in Hatta’s rock pools
Visitors can explore through the natural fresh water springs and cascades of Hatta's rock pools. The only way to get there from Dubai is a breathtaking 80-mile trip over wide stretches of desert, and once you get there, the rock pools transform into an oasis of rocky crevices and water pools. The best times to visit the pools are early in the morning or late in the day when the sun isn't at its strongest. Visitors can wade in the glistening clean water, but be careful to avoid taking an unplanned dive because the pools can suddenly get very deep.
Enjoy a paddle around Hatta Dam
The area's most recognizable landmark is Hatta Dam. Piercing blue seas contrast with rough, orange mountains, giving you a site that won't need a filter when shared to social media.
You will enjoy kayaking at this area.
Explore the town
It can be simple to forget that one of the best things to do in Hatta is exploring the small town when there are so many other activities to choose from, including mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking. Before visiting Hatta Heritage Village, which offers a glimpse into a bygone era, there are some great photos to be taken at the site of the 16th-century Hatta Fort and the 1780 Juma mosque.
Go back in time to Hatta Heritage Village
Forget about the posh, contemporary skyscrapers in Dubai. In this rebuilt mountain town, mud, reed, and stone structures are in style. Browse the Nabatoi folk poetry pieces on show in the folklore house, or explore the old market's streets where there are six shops and a restaurant. You may experience life in the UAE and the Hajar Mountains prior to the 1960s economic oil boom in Hatta Heritage Village.
Enjoy it for free on Fridays and Saturdays from 7.30am to 8.30pm.
