An Arab man in Dubai has been sentenced to death by the Criminal Court for murdering his European girlfriend in July 2020.

The crime was driven by revenge as she sought to end their relationship due to her involvement with another person.

The convict premeditated the murder, closely monitoring her for days before entering her house, slashing her neck, and inflicting fatal injuries.

A building resident alerted security after discovering blood, leading to the police's involvement. The investigative team gathered evidence, identified the accused, and apprehended him near a shopping mall.

The accused had a previous relationship with the victim in 2017, but after discovering her interactions with others, he persistently pursued her, leading to her leaving the country.

Upon her return, he coerced her into reconciliation, and lent her money, but later found out about her new relationship, resulting in a verbal altercation.

Despite her reporting him to the police, he returned, threatening her with a knife and eventually committing the murder. The crime highlights the tragic consequences of an obsessive and vengeful relationship, leading to a heinous act that cost a life.
