The eighth edition of the Hatta Honey Festival, the region's largest honey festival, kicked off on Wednesday with approximately 60 Emirati beekeepers showcasing their honey-related products. The event, organized by the Dubai Municipality, offers on-site testing and tasting of diverse honey varieties, along with the creation of honey-based products such as food items, soaps, and candles.

Instant Laboratory Testing
Dubai Central Laboratory services provide instant laboratory testing of honey samples, confirming quality and adherence to approved standards. The laboratory examines the ratio of total sugars, glucose, sucrose, fructose, and Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) for honey products displayed.
Smart Mobile Laboratory
Dubai Smart Mobile Laboratory conducts tests to detect yeast and other fungi in honey products and checks ready-to-eat meals offered at food establishments participating in the festival, ensuring their quality and safety.
Supporting Beekeepers and Inclusive Development
Dawoud Al Hajri, the director-general of Dubai Municipality, inaugurated the festival, emphasizing its role in creating economic and tourism opportunities. He stated, "The event plays a key role in our efforts to create economic and tourism opportunities for the region’s residents and supports citizens who are into beekeeping, adhering to the vision and strategy of the emirate to ensure inclusive development and elevate the quality of life and prosperity of the population.”
