Dubai Metro Turns 12! Here's All It's Rules and Fines
Many of us have used Dubai Metro at least once, it is a must have experience in the UAE. Since Dubai is an international city that follows strict guidelines to maintain order, there are certain rules one must follow when travelling via Dubai Metro with fines up to AED1000 .
Here’s a list of fines and rules to be aware of.
Spitting, littering, or performing any act that would not maintain cleanliness of the facilities.

Carrying alcoholic beverages

Wrongfully accessing or sitting in areas designated for specific categories (like women and children, or Gold cabin).

Sleeping in passenger shelters or any place where sleeping is prohibited.

Damaging, vandalising or destroying equipment or seats.

Entry into restricted areas in violation of posted warning signs and boards.

Standing or sitting in non-passenger areas.

Misusing lifts or escalators.

Boarding the public transport facilities and services by climbing or jumping.

Opening the doors or attempting to access or leave public transport while it is moving between stations and stops.

Using any security or safety device or tool, including emergency exits when it is not necessary.

Misuse of the emergency buttons.

Carrying or using materials or equipment that may cause inconvenience to users of public transport and public transport facilities and services or endanger their safety.

Causing any distraction or obstruction to a driver of the public transport facilities and services while he is driving.

Carrying hazardous items, including weapons, sharp tools or inflammable materials, inside public transport and public transport facilities and services.

Parking vehicles in areas designated for Metro users for a period exceeding the permitted period.

Failure to comply with the instructions of the inspectors or RTA officials or obstructing the performance of their duties.
