The new visa aims to simplify the process for tourists, requiring only a few business days for processing. Indian tourists contributed 2.46 million overnight stays in the UAE in 2023, marking a 25% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The move aligns with Dubai's D33 Agenda, aiming to double the city's economy in the next decade. The 5-year visa, usable for both business and leisure purposes, is issued within two to five working days, allowing a stay of up to 90 days, extendable once for an additional 90 days, not exceeding 180 days per year.
To apply, travelers need a valid passport, a six-month bank statement with a minimum of $4,000, health insurance, return flight tickets, and a photo.
The visa underscores the strong ties between India and Dubai, reflecting the commitment to further strengthen the relationship. The move leverages Dubai's exceptional flight connectivity and ongoing commitment to the Indian market. The bilateral air service agreement between the UAE and India, effective since January 2014, allows airlines from both countries to operate a maximum of 66,000 seats per week between Dubai and India, supporting increased travel and tourism activities.
