United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 13 June 2024: Executive Pastry Chef Julien Jacob has collaborated with the globally renowned pâtissier and chocolatier Philippe Rigollot for a four hands turtle inspired Afternoon Tea experience at Jumeirah Al Naseem’s Al Mandhar Lounge.

Available for a limited time only, the new experience has launched to celebrate 20 years of rehabilitation and the release of thousands of endangered Hawksbill turtles back into their natural habitat, all thanks to the work of the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (DTRP). Featuring a distinctive menu of gourmet sweet and savoury treats served on ornate turtle tea stands, the afternoon treat will be adorned with sea-inspired touches like seashells, stones and coral designs.

The internationally revered French pastry chef Phillippe Rigollot has curated a limited-edition sweet collection featuring Crunchy Framboise, Mr. Smith and Passionnement, working closely with chef Julien Jacob, who complements the selection perfectly with Chocolate Root, Strawberry Charlotte and Apricot Pistachio creations. The rest of the afternoon tea menu presents savoury delicacies such as Balik Smoked Salmon and Cucumber, Wagyu Beef Coppa and Comte Cheese and a Black Truffle Egg Mimosa. Freshly baked scones are served with a selection of unique flavours such as Strawberry lemon jam and Double cream from Gruyere, and guests are gifted with chocolate turtles to take away.

With inspiration drawn from the work of the DTRP, the menu has sustainability at its core using only seasonal produce from B Corp-certified suppliers, with robust waste management strategies in place.

Over two decades, the DTRP has rehabilitated and released over 2,000 turtles back into their natural habitats, a first of its kind initiative in the region. The ongoing project focuses on the conservation of critically endangered species like the Hawksbill turtle, providing treatment and care at the Burj Al Arab's Aquarium and the Turtle Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Jumeirah Al Naseem and collaborating with Dubai’s Wildlife Protection Office, Dubai Falcon Clinic and the CVRL for veterinary support and research.

The Afternoon Tea experience is priced at AED 520 for two people and is served between 14:30 and 18:30 daily at Jumeirah Al Naseem’s Al Mandhar Lounge.
