The 32nd edition of Al Gaffal Long Distance Race, which is for classic 60-foot sailing yachts, has been given the go-ahead by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
The heritage sport event will take place from May 26th to 28th.

The Dubai International Marine Club hosts the event every year at the conclusion of the marine sports season.
The renowned yearly race, according to Sheikh Hamdan, has significantly helped to preserve the UAE's maritime history.
The event, whose popularity has increased over time, honours the role the sea has played in the to the nation's economy, culture, and society.

Sheikh Hamdan gave instructions to the event's higher organizing committee to ensure the tournament's smooth operation. The competition will follow a 50 nautical mile route beginning on Sir Bu Nair Island, passing through past Crescent Moon Island, and concluding on the coasts of Dubai.
The event was launched in 1991 by the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
