The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) is rolling out a series of exciting new measures to ensure your taxi ride in Dubai is safer, cleaner, and more comfortable than ever before. Among the most noteworthy changes are AI-powered cameras designed to detect smoking inside taxis, alongside other initiatives to improve the overall taxi experience.

AI Cameras to Detect Smoking in Taxis

One of the standout features of these new initiatives is the introduction of advanced AI cameras. These cameras will be installed in taxis across Dubai to monitor and detect smoking inside the vehicle. This move aims to create a more pleasant environment for all passengers, ensuring that your ride remains smoke-free.

Enhanced Driver and Instructor Training

To further improve the quality of taxi services, the RTA is also launching new awareness training programs for drivers and driving instructors. These programs are designed to help drivers maintain high standards of customer service, safety, and hygiene, ultimately making every taxi journey more enjoyable for passengers.

Regular Inspections and Vehicle Maintenance

Alongside the installation of AI cameras, the RTA will be conducting regular inspections across Dubai to ensure that all taxis remain in top condition. These inspections will cover both the vehicle's physical state and the cleanliness of the interior, helping to ensure a high-quality experience for every rider.

Cleanliness and Uniform Upgrades

Cleanliness is key when it comes to taxis, and the RTA is encouraging drivers to keep their vehicles spotless. Additionally, drivers will receive more company uniforms to maintain a professional appearance, creating a more welcoming and organized atmosphere.

High-Quality Air Fresheners for Airport Taxis

To make your ride home from the airport even more enjoyable, the RTA is introducing high-quality air fresheners in over 500 airport taxis. This pilot program is designed to ensure that your taxi not only feels fresh but also smells great, adding to the overall comfort of your journey.

RTA's Commitment to Innovation and Excellence

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the Public Transport Agency, RTA, shared his enthusiasm about the new initiatives:

“These initiatives are part of RTA’s unwavering efforts to enhance the quality of transportation services in Dubai, ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey for all passengers. They align with Dubai’s ambitious vision to cultivate a clean and sustainable environment, underscoring RTA’s commitment to innovation and excellence across the board to deliver services that meet the expectations of Dubai’s residents and visitors.”
