Abu Dhabi International Airport will begin operating its new Terminal A in early November, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The new Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport was formerly known as the Midfield Terminal Building during its construction phase.
The new Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport is expected to serve up to 45 million passengers per year, handle 11,000 travelers per hour, and accommodate 79 aircraft simultaneously. This will be a major milestone for the airport and the emirate and is expected to boost Abu Dhabi's global standing in trade and tourism.
Terminal A is one of the largest airport terminals in the world, with a total floor area of 742,000 square meters. It can handle both passengers and cargo.
Terminal A has been praised for its architectural design and has received several international awards. The terminal is also designed with sustainability in mind, with features such as energy-efficient lighting, advanced HVAC systems, and the use of sustainable construction materials.
To reduce its carbon footprint, Terminal A has installed a solar photovoltaic system on its car park roof. The system generates 3 megawatts of power and saves an estimated 5,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
