Abu Dhabi's 'Salama' app, monitoring school bus journeys live, will extend its coverage to encompass all government schools and select nurseries.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) revealed the system's expansion after the success of its initial phase, initially encompassing private and charter schools.

In collaboration with the Department of Education and Knowledge and the Emirates Schools Establishment, the app forms part of a unified system managing school transport.

It captures students' attendance, boarding, and arrival times, facilitating direct parent communication with bus supervisors and operators. Presently, 239,000 students in Abu Dhabi, constituting approximately 49% of the emirate's total student population, depend on school transport, as reported by the ITC.

This expansion aims to enhance the efficiency and inclusivity of the Salama application, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and communication capabilities for an even larger segment of the student community.
