Abu Dhabi International Airport is all set to open its brand-new Terminal A to the public on November 1. The transition to this new terminal will take place in three phases from November 1 to November 14, following a ceremonial flight by Etihad Airways on October 31.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and 15 other international airlines will begin operations at the new terminal on November 1, while Etihad Airways will shift entirely by November 14, along with Air Arabia Abu Dhabi and several other airlines.

This move is expected to boost Abu Dhabi's standing as a global business and tourism hub. Terminal A is a significant upgrade, doubling the airport's current capacity to handle up to 45 million passengers annually. It's three times larger than the previous terminal and will connect to 117 destinations worldwide, improving flight frequency and reach.

Covering a vast 742,000 square meters, Terminal A is one of the world's largest airport terminals, contributing greatly to Abu Dhabi International Airport’s passenger and cargo capacity.

This development aligns with Abu Dhabi's broader strategy to diversify its economy, moving away from heavy reliance on oil. Emphasizing growth in travel, tourism, cargo, and logistics sectors, this initiative aims to welcome more businesses and tourists to the Emirates for years to come.
