The education group explained that the school will generate as much energy as it consumes, which will help cut its carbon footprint and support UAE's green drive.
The school's campus will have a network of solar panels, which will cover 9,500 square meters, which is expected to create 3.1 kilowatts of energy every year.
Not only will the solar panels power the school, but they will also provide shade for the school's building, parking, and hallways.
The school's thermal insulation and its building's orientation will help reduce the school's annual carbon footprint by 1,154 tons.
The school will initially have the capacity for 900 pupils from the foundation year to grade eight.
The focus on sustainability will extend to the products in the school, in the cafe, and canteen.
The school is recruiting staff who would teach climate change and sustainability too.
This net-zero school will be the first of its kind in Masdar City, which is central to the UAE's sustainable future.
