UAE President Orders Release of 988 Prisoners for Eid Al Adha

Prior to Eid Al Adha, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued an order directing the release of 650 prisoners from Dubai's correctional and punitive establishments.

Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, the Attorney General of Dubai, stated that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's decision to pardon the convicts demonstrates his intention to offer joy to their families, provide them with a chance to begin a new life, and help them reintegrate into society.

Al-Humaidan added that Dubai Public Prosecution has started the legal processes to carry out HH Sheikh Mohammed's directive in coordination with Dubai Police.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President, ordered the release of 988 inmates from prisons on Wednesday.

On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has pardoned a number of inmates from punitive and corrective institutions in the Emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain.
