Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently unveiled AED 2 billion worth of projects aimed at strengthening Dubai’s police force. The announcement was made during his visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, where he highlighted the importance of these projects in promoting community safety, police training, and employee well-being.

Focus on Training Housing and Advanced Security

The new initiatives include a comprehensive police academy expansion, specialized training facilities, and housing to enhance family stability for police employees. The Dubai Police Academy in Al Ruwayyah 1 will be expanded to accommodate 2,500 cadets across four main zones that include classrooms, sports facilities, and residential areas. Scheduled to be completed by 2027 at an estimated cost of AED 1 billion, this expansion reflects a strong commitment to developing well-trained officers.

Another upcoming facility, a training center in Hatta, is set to open next year. Designed to host 180 students, it will provide residential, administrative, and sporting facilities.

High-Tech Crime Prevention: Area 56

Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed the “Area 56” project, a crime prevention center using advanced data analysis and AI technology to predict and prevent criminal activities. With a budget of AED 300 million, the center aims to improve traffic safety and counter-narcotics efforts, while further positioning Dubai as a leader in high-tech policing.

Housing and Community Initiatives

To support police personnel, the AED 300 million housing project in Umm Al Daman will provide 246 residential apartments along with green spaces, a sports complex, and family-friendly amenities. Completion is expected by 2026, creating a supportive community environment for officers and their families.

Enhanced Police Facilities Across Dubai

Dubai Police’s infrastructure is also expanding with new and upgraded facilities, including the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, the Bur Dubai Police Station, and a Forensic Medicine Building. These facilities will integrate the latest technology in fields like forensic science and virtual anatomy, ensuring that Dubai Police remains at the forefront of security and emergency response.

World’s First Floating Smart Police Station

The world’s first offshore Smart Police Station is set to open at The World Islands, offering 24/7 services for yacht enthusiasts and water sports fans with no human intervention. This unique floating facility represents Dubai’s dedication to pioneering innovation in community services.

Through these ambitious projects, Sheikh Mohammed continues to reinforce Dubai’s reputation as one of the safest cities globally, while also investing in the well-being and advanced training of its police force.
