During the first quarter of 2023, the Dubai Police arrested 47% of all suspects in crimes involving drugs in the UAE. 6 million narcotic tablets and more than 230 kg of drugs were seized during these operations.
In the first three months of the year, Dubai Police confiscated heroin, cocaine, opium, crystal meth, marijuana, and hashish. The authorities also cracked down on drug traffickers and suppliers while also monitoring social media, where up to 208 profiles were discovered to be advertising narcotics. These pages had all been blocked at the same time.
According to the most recent statistics, the drug seizure by the Dubai Police accounted for 36% of the total quantity collected countrywide in the first quarter, signaling a significant victory in the emirate's fight against drugs.
The force's student and community programs benefited 24,204 individuals from different nationalities in Q1 2023, according to Col. Abdullah Al Khayat, Director of Hemaya International Centre, while numerous awareness initiatives benefited nearly six million people.
