30 Electric Buses to be Deployed in Dubai

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will deploy 30 electric buses at Business Bay, Al Wasl Road, and Dubai Mall.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s zero-emission public transport strategy.
The RTA has not yet announced the rollout and the fee structure for the electric buses.

In August 2023, commuters got free rides when RTA introduced an electric bus trial along the route from La Mer to Al Sufouh.
RTA shared that they gradually converting their bus fleet into electric and environmentally friendly vehicles.
Dubai's clean energy strategy demands an increase in the use of electric and hybrid vehicles.
The strategy also demands the implementation of energy-efficient traffic lights and street lights.
The introduction of electric buses in the three major areas of Dubai will increase environmentally friendly commutes.
