12% Increase in Intl. Students Who Prefer Dubai for Higher Education

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has released new statistics showing that enrollment at Dubai's International higher education institutions has increased by 8% annually.

International students now make up about a third of all students, up 12% from the number who chose Dubai to pursue their higher education. According to recent KHDA data, there are more than 30,000 students now enrolled in university programs.

“Dubai continues to strengthen its emergence as a leading destination for international higher education. The rise in the number of international campuses opening in Dubai and the diversity of programs available is attracting more international students to study in the city. This progress speaks to the quality of education offered by universities and their commitment to building a truly world-class higher education sector. We look forward to working with university leaders to further advance Dubai’s position as a regional and international higher education hub,” stated the Director-General of KHDA, Dr. Abdulla Al Karam.
The data on graduates indicated that more than 80% of students who graduated from a higher education institution in Dubai in the past two academic years were either employed or continuing their educational pursuits.
In the past three academic years, there has been a 21% increase in the number of programs provided by international institutions, with business, engineering, and information technology degrees proving to be the highest in demand among students from abroad and Emiratis.
