The Friends of Arthritis Patients (FAP) association, affiliated to the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, announced the launch of the tenth charity marathon today, under the theme 'Physical Activity is Life'.
The marathon, which seeks to attract more than 8,000 competitors, targets all members of society, especially school and university students, sports clubs, hospitals and people with disabilities.
The marathon aims to enhance community awareness of arthritis, in addition to providing material and moral support to patients, encouraging them to follow a healthy lifestyle.
This year’s marathon will take place along Al Mamzar Corniche and feature a variety of innovative health, sports, and recreational events and activities, organized by the FAP.
The charity marathon is divided into four phases according to the age of the participants and their physical capabilities.

The third stage is 2.5 kilometers long for the age group of eight years and over.
The last stage is only a one kilometer ‘Fun Walk’. It is open to all ages, the elderly, patients and families.
