AED500 Fine for Motorists Praying on Roadsides in Abu Dhabi
- Publish date: Friday، 31 January 2025

Truck and bus drivers in Abu Dhabi have been warned against randomly parking on roadsides, as it poses a significant safety risk, the emirate’s police announced.
Roadside Parking Poses Safety Risks
Authorities highlighted that stopping on the side of the road—often to perform prayers—can be dangerous for both drivers and other road users. The practice is particularly risky during peak hours, increasing the chances of accidents.
To prevent potential hazards, heavy vehicle owners, transport businesses, and distribution managers have been urged to educate drivers about safe parking practices and to avoid any ‘uncivilized behavior.’
Alternative Safe Prayer Locations
Drivers who need to pray have been advised to use nearby mosques, designated prayer areas, or other safe locations to prevent unnecessary risks.
