Abu Dhabi’s Social Support Authority (ADSSA) has introduced a groundbreaking initiative to help young Emirati couples start their marital journey on a strong financial footing.

AED150,000 Interest-Free Loan for Newlyweds

The easy marriage loan, offering up to AED150,000 with no interest or fees, is designed to support stable and financially secure marriages. Since its launch in September 2024, the program has received 515 applications. Out of these, 58% met all eligibility criteria, 32% were deemed ineligible, and 10% are still under review.

Supporting Emirati Family Growth

This initiative is part of the Emirati Family Growth program, which aims to alleviate the financial pressures of marriage. It encourages family stability and promotes affordable weddings while improving the quality of life for Emirati families. Additionally, the program encourages marriage and childbirth by offering unique incentives.

Eligibility and Benefits

Applicants must meet nine specific conditions, including UAE nationality, registration on the “Medeem” platform, and adhering to age and salary requirements.

A standout feature of the loan is that AED50,000 will be forgiven after five years if the couple has two children during this period.

Eligibility Criteria at a Glance:

  1. Both spouses must be UAE nationals.
  2. The husband must hold a Family Book issued in Abu Dhabi.
  3. Registration on the “Medeem” platform is mandatory.
  4. The husband must be at least 21 and the wife at least 18 at the marriage contract signing.
  5. The applicant must not have been married before, except for widowers.
  6. Applications must be submitted within six months of the marriage contract.
  7. The husband’s monthly salary must not exceed AED60,000.
  8. Applicants must meet UAE banks’ creditworthiness standards.
  9. The loan is a one-time grant.

Enhanced Support for Families

The Emirati Family Growth program, also known as Namo, includes additional initiatives like extended maternity leave, housing loan discounts for families with multiple children, and rental assistance for newlyweds. These measures aim to strengthen Emirati family life and boost economic stability.
