A new wave of Peruvian concepts in Dubai

With a host of recently opened new venues, complimenting the award-winning established ones, the Peruvian restaurant scene in Dubai is thriving. This can be greatly attributed to the ongoing strengthening of Peru’s trade relations within the region, specifically in the increase of exports and availability of its key produce, critical to developing Peruvian cuisine, that relies on fresh, traditional and unique ingredients.

Alvaro Silva-Santisteban, Director, Trade, Tourism and Investment Office of Peru in the GCC, comments; “The UAE has far faster evolved gastronomically than many other cosmopolitan cities. Today, the country is host to a myriad group of restaurants that showcase a wide range of different dishes from Peru’s unique and diverse gastronomy, highlighting the exceptional flavours, techniques and savvy use of ingredients.”

These new restaurants are helmed by a dedicated group of creative chefs who have introduced a variety of traditional and contemporary dishes, using the freshest ingredients to establish their national identity. As UAE consumers become increasingly more health conscious and aware of what they eat, Peruvian food, products and produce tick all the boxes.

“Peru is committed to support the UAE’s food security strategy in developing international partnerships to diversify its food sources. Our country offers access to a variety of high-quality products available year-round, including vegetables, fruits, grains, oils and fish that are produced using sustainable and socially conscious agricultural methods. Peru is now ranked in the top three countries for the worldwide export of asparagus, avocados, mangoes, grapes, berries and quinoa”, added Silva- Santisteban.
