8,000+ Ghaf Trees Planted Across Abu Dhabi Island

Abu Dhabi City Municipality is going green with its latest environmental initiative. In line with the Plant UAE campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the municipality has successfully planted 8,467 Ghaf trees across Abu Dhabi Island and its mainland.

Why the Ghaf Tree?

The Ghaf tree holds a special place in the UAE’s identity. Not only is it a symbol of national pride and tolerance, but it also plays a vital role in the ecosystem. Known for its resilience in arid environments, the Ghaf tree helps combat desertification, reduces carbon footprints, and supports sustainable urban development.

Behind the Scenes of the Planting Process

The municipality provided extensive support to ensure the success of this project.
