33 Camel Trekkers Start 680km Journey to Global Village

The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre (HHC) has officially launched the 11th edition of its renowned annual Camel Trek. This year, 33 trekkers from 17 different countries set off on a remarkable 680 km journey, starting in the vast Empty Quarter of Abu Dhabi and making their way to the Global Village, where they will arrive on December 21st.

Over the next 13 days, the camel caravan will travel through the endless desert sands, embracing the challenges and adventures of an experience that echoes the ancient ways of the Bedouin. The trek highlights the UAE’s rich cultural heritage, offering participants a rare opportunity to connect with tradition while facing the trials of desert travel.

Leading the caravan is Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, CEO of HHC. Expressing his pride in the growing participation and the diversity of nationalities involved, Bin Dalmook emphasized the importance of this annual event in showcasing the spirit of tolerance, endurance, and camaraderie that the UAE holds dear.

This extraordinary trek is not just a physical challenge - it’s a celebration of the UAE’s cultural legacy, bringing people from across the world together to experience the desert’s majesty while honoring the endurance of the UAE's ancestors.
